DxOMark today released its in-depth review of the OnePlus 8 Pro camera giving it an overall score of 119, with 126 points in photography and 103 points in the video.
The OnePlus 8 Pro ranks right in front of the Galaxy S20 + in 10th place in the DxOMark standings, beating the Samsung flagship on video but missing a point in photography.
The OnePlus 8 Pro has an improved set of cameras compared to its predecessor the OnePlus 7T Pro. The 48MP main camera has a larger sensor, the ultra-wide-angle camera is the same 48MP size as the 7T Pro’s main camera, and the 8MP 3x telephoto camera is the same.
In its tests, DxOMark claims that the OnePlus 8 Pro is among the best in terms of white balance. The OnePlus 8 Pro’s images deliver nice, vivid colors, a good detail-to-noise ratio on the main camera, and highly detailed and colorful ultra-wide-angle camera results.
Where the OnePlus 8 Pro falls short in front of the best cameras is in the dynamic range in the most complex scenes – it manages to retain the lights better than the Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max, but it is not as good as the best in its class, the Huawei P40 Pro.
The video is very good on the OnePlus 8 Pro, with great color rendering and exposure. This places him in the Top 5 video in the DxO database.
