Sony’s PS5 will launch later this year, but hopefully it will be hard to come by at first.
We had heard that Sony might limit console reservations to one console per person, and now the company has provided additional information.
According to Sony, “there will be a limited number of PS5 consoles available for pre-order , so we will invite some of our current users to be among the first to pre-order a PlayStation.”
To this end, Sony has created a registration page on its US website where users can register with their PSN ID if they want to be the first to buy the console.
Basically, players will participate in a selection process where, if chosen, they will be invited to purchase the console with accessories and will be guaranteed a unit when it is available. The eligibility criteria will be the user’s “prior interests and PlayStation activity” .
As Sony points out, there will be limited quantities of the PS5 at launch, so if you sign up, you have a better chance of getting it.

Each selected user will be able to buy in advance the following units of consoles and accessories:
- 1 PS5 or 1 PS5 Digital Edition
- 2 DualSense controllers
- 2 DualSense charging stations
- 2 helmets 2 Pulse 3D
- 2 remote controls for multimedia
- 2 HD cameras
Interested players just need to fill out the form on the Sony website, including their PSN ID, and keep an eye on their email in the future to see if they have been selected.
Registration does not guarantee a place but only gives you the opportunity to get an invitation. In addition, as we have mentioned, the page is aimed at users in the United States and, at the moment, we do not know that there is a version for Europe or other regions.
