The Huawei P40 Pro currently tops the DxOMark mobile photography ranking thanks to its excellent set of cameras.
According to the Chinese company’s executive, next year, Huawei intends to maintain the crown with the new P50 series that is already in development.
Details about the development of the upcoming P-series flagship have been revealed by Wang Yonggang, P-series chief executive. As Yonggang explained, the time from the start of development to the launch of a P-series phone takes at least 18 months.
This means that the P50 series has been in development since even before the P40 series launched in March.
Wang stated that the global R&D team meets a year before launch to discuss innovative technologies and solutions that will reach the devices. Seeing that we are already in June and assuming that the P50 series will launch in March of next year, this meeting should have already taken place.
The company executive said the upcoming P-series flagships will feature cutting-edge technologies, including new technological advancements, when they arrive next year.
Huawei is expected to launch the flagships with the new 5nm Kirin 1000 chipset that will debut first in the Mate 40 series later this year if the chip purchase veto from TSMC does not prevent it.
