ASUS A17 is the brand’s new gaming laptop that is designed based on the new AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU processors in combination with a powerful RTX 3060 from Nvidia.
The ASUS TUF Gaming A17 would be one of the first laptops with a combination of Ryzen 5000 APU chips with an RTX 30 graphics card from Nvidia, which are sure to flood the gaming laptop market in 2021.
The retailer Expert.de is the one that has listed this powerful laptop, providing some of the specifications that it will have. The notebook will have a Ryzen 7 5800H APU with a base clock speed of 3.0 GHz and a boost clock of 4.3 GHz. These clock speeds would be identical to the Ryzen 7 4900HS.
The GPU is codenamed GPU GN20-E3, which refers to the upcoming GeForce RTX 3060 Mobile with 6GB of GDDR6 memory. It is a new mid-range GPU that replaces the RTX 2060.
E l laptop has a 17 – inch screen with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The panel detailed a series of ‘poor quality’ for color accuracy handling. We speak of 62.5% SRGB and 47.34% of the Adobe color gamut, while the contrast is 800: 1 and 250 nits of brightness.
SSD storage is handled by a 512GB NVMe SSD using the PCIe 3.0 controller. Asus doesn’t add a PCIe 4.0 compliant SSD. We don’t know if it’s because of a cost-saving decision or because the Ryzen 5000 ‘Cezanne-H’ APU processors don’t have PCIe 4.0 support.
Lastly, the memory capacity would be 8 GB DDR4 running at 3200 MHz. This capacity can be scarce in different scenarios.
The target price for the ASUS A17 would be around $ 1,000. We will keep you informed.
