There are only a few weeks left until Microsoft and Sony launch their next-generation consoles, and criticism of their designs has come from both sides.
In the case of the Xbox Series X, some have compared the monolithic block design of the console to that of a refrigerator.
Microsoft has taken the criticism with humor and has released a trailer to reveal a new appliance: the Xbox Series X refrigerator.
This new appliance has “next-generation refrigeration” and is a 180 cm high scale replica of the Xbox Series X.
Obviously, it is a promotional item that will never go on sale. It’s not actually the first time we’ve seen a promotional item for a console launch.
The Xbox Onesie Suit for Gamers was introduced in 2016 as part of the Xbox One S promotion, and although Microsoft never intended to sell it, high demand led to it being marketed for a limited time.
It doesn’t seem likely that the Xbox Series X fridge will follow the same path, but if you want to have this fridge in your kitchen, you can retweet this tweet until November 4 for a chance to win it.
As Microsoft describes, you will receive a refrigerator from an unknown manufacturer customized to the look of an Xbox Series X.
