On Star Wars Day, May 4th, Disney and Lucasfilm will launch the new ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ series on Disney+. The show will launch with a 70-minute premiere, and then it will have new episodes on every Friday beginning on Friday, May 7. However, there are only four episodes in total.
Today they released a trailer for the upcoming series:
Here’s the official synopsis for the show:
“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in “The Clone Wars”) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch—a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army—each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.”
The Bad Batch will be executive produced by Dave Filoni who was instrumental in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian. Other executive producers are Athena Portillo (Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels), Brad Rau (Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars Resistance), and Jennifer Corbett (Star Wars Resistance). Co-Executive Producer Carrie Beck (The Mandalorian and Star Wars Rebels) and Josh Rimes producer (Star Wars Resistance) will also be joining the team.
Brad Rau is also working as supervising director and Jennifer Corbett is doing double duty as the head writer.
Dee Bradley Baker is back to play the Clone Troopers too. He previously voiced the characters in Star Wars: The Clone Wars as well.
I’m excited because Ming-Na Wen is back and I love her and the character of Fennec Shand.
Yet another strong, female character done right! I would love to see more characters like her, and Cara Dune, moving forward!
I also like that they are bringing it around with Grand Moff Tarkin as well! Makes my Classic Star Wars loving heart happy.
