The Coronavirus pandemic has put (and continues to turn) the world upside down, where in the field of entertainment there have been not a few films that have had to stop filming or postpone their premieres until the situation improves.
Among the affected films we have Black Widow, the film with which Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was going to officially start in May 2020 and which had to be postponed due to the pandemic, starting the new cycle with the Scarlet Witch and Vision series in Disney Plus. After much uncertainty, it was finally confirmed that Black Widow will arrive on July 9 in theaters and on Disney + with Premium Access.
Although the film Black Widow has been shot for a long time, since then we have not seen its starring actress, Scarlett Johansson, in any future project. And it is that, due to the current conditions in the industry, the interpreter has decided to take a temporary break from acting.
“I just can’t work. I don’t think the conditions required to work right now are conditions where I can work comfortably,” Johansson commented in an interview with The Gentlewoman. “I prefer to wait until I can work in an environment where we can be connected to each other.”
Of course reasons are not lacking, since nowadays film shootings are quite complicated as having to follow all the relevant security protocols, having to be paralyzing the recording and keeping its members in quarantine every time someone from the team gives positive for Coronavirus. A situation like this stresses anyone, and if not tell Tom Cruise when he exploded on the set of Mission Impossible 7 after seeing how anti-COVID protocols were skipped (with all the reason in the world).
What do you think that Scarlett Johansson has decided to temporarily retire from acting?
