Willem Dafoe, the Green Goblin from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movie with Tobey Maguire, could also appear in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 3: a medium claims that he has already been in the shoot.

Rumors continue about the cast of Spider-Man 3 (the third Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland in the Marvel Cinematic Universe). And this time they talk about one of the character’s most remembered villains: Willem Dafoe, who played the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi’s first movie, Spider-Man (2002).

This time around, the buzz comes from two outlets, Geeks Worldwide and The Illuminerdi. Illuminerdi said a while ago that Willem Dafoe was in talks with Sony to reprise his role in the film, which is currently shooting. Today, Geeks Worldwide credits the original rumor, and according to one of their sources,  Willem Dafoe showed up today on the set of the film.

Unfortunately, they do not have more data, although they say that it is the same source that already told them that Alfred Molina (Dr. Octopus) would also return in the film , something that was later corroborated by an important medium such as The Hollywood Reporter.

At the moment, neither Sony nor Marvel have commented on the cast of this film, which according to rumors, would bring together the three cinematic Spider-Man ( Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire ) and the villains of their films ( Doctor Octopus from Molina , Dafoe’s Green Goblin , Jamie Foxx’s Electro … and according to Illuminerdi, also Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman ).

Not to mention that the respective girlfriends Spider-Man earlier, the Mary Jane of Kirsten Dunst and Gwen of Emma Stone also be in talks to leave. Add to that the almost assured presence of Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange … and possibly also Netflix’s Daredevil, Charlie Cox.

Too good to be true? Tom Holland gave an interview a few days ago and said that Spider-Man 3 was the most ambitious individual superhero movie ever made, although he denied there was going to be a “Spiderverse” reunion … which in any case, I would be contractually obligated to not reveal anything.

Spider-Man 3 is scheduled to premiere in December 2021, and filming is currently continuing. The wait will be long (and there will likely be more delays as the pandemic continues) … but Marvel fans are more focused right now on Scarlet Witch and Vision, which just had a fundamental chapter for the future of the series … and all of Marvel. Have you seen it yet? In our gathering we recount all that he gave of himself.
