The Incredible Hulk has sadly had little to no character development throughout his stay in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, primarily because Marvel Studios shares the rights to the character with Universal Pictures. This led to us not seeing a new Bruce Banner solo movie beyond 2008’s distant Hulk: Incredible Man, however that could change soon.
According to the Giant Freakin Robot portal, Marvel Studios already has official plans to develop a new Hulk solo film starring actor Mark Ruffalo. It is not yet known for sure what the film would be about, however rumors suggest that they will adapt the story of World War Hulk.
The medium also clarifies that this film would be a bridge for future stories involving not only Bruce Banner, but various incarnations of the Hulk. The emerald giant would go from being a secondary character in Marvel productions to be able to have new adventures as the protagonist.
Marvel Studios already has planned to release a Disney + series based on She-Hulk, starring Tatiana Maslany and where we can see again Mark Ruffalo as Hulk and Tim Roth as Abomination (who we haven’t seen since 2008).
If this turns out to be real, we could get new versions of the Hulk on the small screen, or even the big screen, because Jennifer Walters / She Hulk, is not the only alternate version of the monster that inhabits Doctor Banner. There is the Red Hulk, who is actually General Ross, Bruce Banner’s eternal enemy; the Hulk of Amadeus Cho, who is a brilliant scientist who manages to become the Hulk entity. In addition to Scar, the son the Hulk had during his stay on the planet Sakaar.
