Aside from the series on Peacemaker for HBO Max, James Gunn has other Suicide Squad spin-offs in mind.
Apart from the Russo brothers, James Gunn is another of the great assets present in Marvel, whether due to his great knowledge of the world of comics, his particular way of telling stories or his magnificent taste for music, what a pity that now the Kevin Feige’s studio may have to share his talents with Warner.
And it is that the DC studio also knew how to see Gunn’s genius, that’s why as soon as he was fired from Disney for some old tweets, Warner did not waste a moment in recruiting him to direct his new version of Suicide Squad, of which it seems it’s going to stretch the gum a lot, and it’s no wonder with the amount of characters it has.
This has been confirmed by James Gunn himself through Twitter after one of his fans asked him directly if “he has more ideas for Suicide Squad spin-offs”, to which the director has briefly replied with a “yes”.

Of course this does not mean that they will come true, but seeing that as soon as the trailer for the main film was released, a spin-off series of Peacemaker was announced, the character of Jon Cena in Suicide Squad, for HBO Max, it seems more we are likely to hear the same from other characters soon.
What also remains up in the air is to what degree James Gunn is going to get involved, because let’s remember that he reached an agreement that after finishing the filming of Suicide Squad he had to start with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 for Marvel, so he may just develop the ideas and others execute them.
