James Gunn has confirmed his involvement in Thor: Love and Thunder with a view to the connection that the film will establish with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Going back a bit in time, almost everyone will remember that at the end of Avengers Endgame, Thor leaves in the Guardians of the Galaxy ship . The Marvel Cinematic Universe has made many turns since the end of the Infinity Saga and the position of some productions has changed position on more than one occasion, but it seems that things are already settled, although the respective releases depend on the pandemic in these moments.
With Thor: Love and Thunder in full swing in Australia, fans know that some members of the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in the Taika Waititi- directed film. In fact some members have been spotted on set in recent days.
Through Twitter, James Gunn , director and screenwriter of the Guardians of the Galaxy films, has confirmed his involvement in the new Thor film in order to establish the correct connection with Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3, which will go into production soon.
Gunn has confirmed that he has been in contact with Taika Waititi and that they have both read the scripts for Thor Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy vol.3. The goal was for Waititi to know where to lead the characters in Guardians of the Galaxy vol.3 so that there were no inconsistencies with the James Gunn film. Said like this, it may sound like the most logical and obvious thing in the world, but Star Wars has already shown that directors and screenwriters don’t always take others into account when establishing their stories, for better and for worse.
Not much, & @TaikaWaititi is doing a great job – the script is amazing. We talked before he started writing it about where the characters are & where they're going & he read the script for Vol 3 & then I read his script & shared my thoughts.

Do you think we will see enough of the Guardians of the Galaxy in Thor: Love and Thunder?
