Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Star Wars series begins to reveal its cast with the signing of Game of Thrones actress Indira Varma.

After many years of rumors and half-truths, this 2021 will finally begin filming the Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor as the legendary Jedi master. The success of The Mandalorian on Disney Plus has given wings to many serial projects that were parked in Lucasfilm drawers, as well as new productions. Deborah Chow will be in charge of creating the series and serving as its showrunner.

Some time ago we knew the news that, in addition to Ewan McGregor, actor Hayden Christensen would return to Star Wars to again embody Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader in the Disney Plus series, reprising his role from the prequels trilogy.

Now, thanks to Variety, we meet the first new signing in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series to join the two actors. It is none other than Indira Varma, who will be part of the team in a role that has not been revealed at the moment.

Most of us know Indira Varma for her role in Game of Thrones, the series where she gave life to Ellaria Arena for three seasons. He has also participated in series such as Roma and Carnival Row. In 2020 we got to see the actress in the Disney Plus movie The Magnificent Ivan. We will remain attentive to any clue that is revealed about the role that Indira Varma will play in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series to find out what that galaxy far, far away has in store for her character.
