A few days ago we told you that reliable sources assured that Kevin Hart, an American actor who appeared in the new Jumanji installments, was in talks to appear in the Borderlands film. If that excited you, you should know that he has already closed the deal to appear on this tape.
According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Hart officially signed the contract with Lionsgate to appear in the Borderlands adaptation on the big screen. It should be mentioned that it was a long negotiation since both were in talks for months.
“Kevin has been behind some of the biggest releases and our source material is inspired by one of the best-selling video games,” said Nathan Kahane, president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. “We love the way our team has adapted this story and we couldn’t be in better hands.”
WHO WILL KEVIN HART PLAY IN BORDERLANDS?
Now the question is, what is the role that Kevin Hart will have in Borderlands? Is he perhaps an important character? The answer is yes, as he will be in charge of bringing Roland to life on the big screen.
In case you didn’t know, Roland is one of the playable characters in Borderlands and appeared as an NPC in Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. That is, it is a character with an important role in most of the installments of the franchise.
Roland is a soldier originating from the planet Promethea and is a former soldier in the Crimson Lance forces. He is a responsible and ethical character compared to the rest of the Borderlands cast. So it’s a very different role than what we’re used to from Hart.
“I’m excited to be working with Kevin,” said Eli Roth, director of Borderlands, in a statement. “ Borderlands is a new kind of RPG to watch and we’re excited to surprise audiences by seeing a side of Kevin that they have never seen. It will be an amazing Roland. “
And to you, what did you think of this decision? Do you think Hart does a good role-playing Roland? Tell us in the comments.
The Borderlands movie will begin filming sometime in 2021.
