Rumors have long circulated that the Spider-Man film franchise will spoil arachnid fans with a multiverse. Now there is new information that seems to indicate that this will be the direction that the series will take, since Alfred Molina will return as Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 3 .
As they tell us in Tomatazos, important media such as Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, Alfred Molina has already signed up to play Otto Octavius again, but now in Spider-Man 3 . With this it is clear that Marvel is willing to explore the idea of the multiverse and that fuels the hopes of the fans.
In case you don’t remember, Molina played Doctor Octopus in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 . There he was the main antagonist of the film with a performance that won the affection of the audience. So it’s no surprise that the fan community wanted to see him back on other tapes.
MORE CLUES POINT TO THE MULTIVERSE IN SPIDER-MAN
As we mentioned, Molina’s presence in Spider-Man 3 raises hopes for a multiverse. In other words: it seems that the fans’ dream of seeing the 3 actors who have played Spider-Man in the cinema will come true ―Tom Holland; Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire – in the same film playing Peter Parker.
With this in mind, we must remember that Molina will not be the only actor from another version of Spider-Man who will reprise his character for Spider-Man 3. What happens is that Jaime Foxx, who played Electro in Amazing Spider- Man 2 will be in this installment. Additionally, JK Simmons appeared as J. Jonah Jamerson in the latest arachnid film.
