In February, we confirmed that a reboot of “Superman” is being created, written by Ta-Nehisi Coates, the creator of the comic book series about “Black Panther”. We still don’t know many details about the project, but The Hollywood Reporter has received very interesting information about the director’s engagement.
According to journalists, Warner Bros. and DC have hired a black director to handle the first cinematic incarnation of Superman starring a black actor.
As it is known earlier, it was confirmed that JJ Abrams will be the producer, so information appeared on the Internet, according to which the creator will probably become the director. As it turns out, one source from The Hollywood Reporter said that betting on Abrams would be “out of place”.

As a result, Warner Bros. and Marvel are now to compete for the right director – the latter is looking for a creator to create “Blade”.
It is worth noting, however, that the new “Superman” is not supposed to be part of any of the universes, and the story created by Coates is “in the style of the original comics”. In this case, the hero will come to Earth from Krypton.
