Apple is working on its own electric car, which the firm hopes to launch on the market in 2024, although everything indicates that it won’t be until at least five years from now when it hits the market. To develop this car, the American firm will work with other companies. Hyundai will be one of them and both are close to signing a collaboration agreement.
This agreement would be made official in March of this year, to give the starting signal to this process. Production would begin in 2024 in the United States.
Before the weekend there were already rumors about an agreement between Apple and Hyundai for the production of the first electric car of the American firm, although the car manufacturer came to the step of the same. It seems that this agreement will be made official in March, as both firms are still finalizing the details of it. But in a couple of months it will be official.
Under the agreement, production will take place at a Kia Motors factory in Georgia, United States. The idea is to have a production capacity of around 100,000 vehicles by 2024. Although it is not ruled out either having a factory owned by the two firms.
Apple has an ambitious project in hand with this first electric car. There are no details at the moment about this car, which is in an early stage of development. So it will be necessary to see if this agreement with Hyundai and its conditions are made official, to know how it will evolve.
