“I sat down with the McNair family [the owners of the Texans] and asked to be released. We mutually agreed to keep our paths separate, ”said Watt, saying he wanted fans to hear him from him.
The holder of three NFL Defensive Player of the Year titles (2012,2014 and 2015) then sincerely thanked the supporters of the Texas roster and all members of the organization that had selected him with the 11th pick. in the 2011 draft total.
“We have a very special connection and I’ll never take it for granted because I know how rare this is,” he said.
In 128 games in the NFL, Watt made 531 tackles, including 409 solo and 172 for loss of ground. He also had 101 quarterback sacks, two interceptions and three touchdowns.
